NEW DELHI: Around 1,600 investors have received the offer possession of their homes in Arawali homes at Sector 4 in Sohna about a months ahead of the actual deadline, becoming one of the first lot to own flats developed under the affordable housing scheme in Sohna.
Amidst lockdown when the real estate sector is grappling with a slowdown and several developers are struggling to meet deadlines, the speedy completion and early delivery of Arawali homes has come as a pleasant surprise, cheering many potential buyers looking for homes in the city.
Launched by GLS group in October 2014, the project is spread over 10 acres, housing 1650 two-bedroom units. The construction started in mid-2016 with a deadline of April 2020. This included around six months ban on construction in Delhi- NCR imposed by National Green Tribunal.
“We had a dream of owning a property in NCR. It has come true for me and hundreds of other homebuyers in the form of Arawali homes,” said Narendra Kumar, who owns a flat in the complex. “Getting possession of the flat before the stipulated time has brought smiles to our faces.”
“My biggest fear was whether the property will be constructed on time or not as delays are so common in real estate. The builder completed the project and is ready to give the possession” said Utkarsh Singh, a homebuyer.
Another homebuyer Kamna says “In this lockdown, the only good news I have received is that my flat is ready. I visited the site as soon as I got intimation from developer, it looks unbelievable to see the project completed in present scenario”.
Jyoti Sethi, who booked the unit in 2014, said the project is located in green and pollution free location and looks like any other luxury project. “All the facilities are very attractive on a low budget. It is also a great investment for a sustainable residence” she added.
Director, GLS group, Surinder Singh said the project is among the firsts to be delivered in Sohna. “Despite six month ban on construction in Delhi-NCR by NGT due to rising pollution levels, we managed to complete the project in 36 months due to better coordination with all our in-house teams” he said.
“We used Aluminum formwork technology in construction. We have developed a project which is away from the main labour hub of projects therefore it was a challenge to arrange the labour. But our hardwork paid off and we have not only successfully delivered quality product but also before the promised deadline” he added.
