NEW DELHI: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today inaugurated a “modern” town hall at Belonia in Tripura built by Navratna CPSE NBCC (India) Ltd. at a cost of Rs. 24.91 crores, a move that will help in strengthening urban infrastructure in the state and North-East.
As a part of the mandate of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for the development of Tripura, NBCC undertook the construction of this project, which is spread over a plot area of 6,000 sqmts, in the South Tripura district.
The total built up area of the project is 3,950 sqmtrs. The differently-abled friendly complex has seating capacity of 1152 nos. in addition to meeting rooms, VIP rooms, art gallery, a green room, and a cafeteria among others.
Speaking on the occasion, NBCC Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal said, “The North-Eastern states are an integral part of our country’s economy and their contribution is immense. NBCC is proud to be associated with the project in this part of the country. It is a testimony of NBCC’s proficiency in constructing modern and advanced infrastructure.”
NBCC is also undertaking the construction of a 65-storeyed World Trade Centre in Guwahati, which is ready for a soft launch and will revolutionise global trade and commerce from the region. With all such projects, NBCC is increasing its footprint in the infrastructure map of the north-east also.
The CPSE, a preferred partner of the central government, has been undertaking several significant projects like National Police Memorial in Delhi, NIA complexes in Hyderabad and Guwahati, infrastructure projects in health and education sectors, various redevelopment projects, office complexes of premier organisations such as CBI and CIC among others.
