NEW DELHI: The last day of INDEX 2018, India’s largest architecture, interior and design exhibition, concluded with a remarkable response from the industry with an estimated business exchange of over Rs. 500 Crore.
The overall business expected to be generated over a year for businesses, through the event, is expected to be around Rs. 1,000 crore.
The show received overwhelming response with over 30,000 trade, business and professional visitors from Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and over 20 Tier II cities of India participated in the event, this year. Eminent Architects, Designers, Builders and policy makers attended the event for business associations and knowledge exchange.
Renowned designer Kanika Bawa showcased a distinct light installation, ‘Luminaire’, which was a postmodern look at the role that space and design has played in man’s history throughout the ages.
Spread across 3,00,000 sq. ft., the show featured over 300 companies bringing in over 2500 brands from 10 countries including Italy, Germany, China, Korea, UAE, Romania, Poland, Russia, Malaysia and Indonesia, all vying for India’s burgeoning industry opportunity.
The exhibits also showcased international furniture brands from Russia, Wall finishes and paints brands like Nikkolor from Italy and Blaupunkt appliances from Germany, Residential, office furniture and hardware brands from China, Dubai and Poland, Designer furniture brands from Malaysia and Romania.

Unique sessions like ‘Smoking Hot’ – An exciting combination of experience-sharing, entertainment and a fabulous awards ceremony, was organized to offer a unique opportunity for personal interactions with the top architects and builders. Discussion sessions like, ‘Material Matters’ and ‘Holy Cow!’ held during the event shed light on varied aspects of the industry. From discussing international trends on modern materials to re-evaluating the conventional approach and analyzing the dogma within the sphere of architecture and design, various discussions in the event encompassed new ideas on design and architecture.
A treasure trove of new ideas for the industry professionals INDEX 2018 was a world class showcase of international design products and the excellence in Indian manufactured products. It was a lively platform for business development, industry networking and knowledge sharing.
INDEX is supported by important industry and professional associations such as All India Hardware Association (AIHA), Hospitality Purchasing Managers Forum (HPMF), several regional chapters of Interior Designers and Architects (IIID) and the National Association of Builders and Real Estate Developers (NAREDCO).
