MUMBAI (INDIA): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the government was working on GIS mapping of all the properties in the state.
Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping will “bring (information regarding) all properties online”, he said.
Also, a common portal for all the municipal councils would be put together soon, Fadnavis said at a program here where awards for best performing municipal councils and panchayats were given.
His government had allocated Rs 21,000 crore for development of cities so far, he said.
“146 projects worth Rs 8,000 crore were pending for eight years, but we decided to complete them in three years. We gave Rs 3,000 crore each for the first two years. All pending works will be completed next year,” Fadnavis said.
“We are working on GIS mapping of properties to bring all properties online. And a common portal of all municipal councils will be made available soon,” he said.
“We have made 200 cities open-defecation-free and are working very hard to make entire Maharashtra open-defecation-free by this year-end,” he said.
He also spoke about a special one-year drive to promote segregation of waste from May 2017 to May 2018.
