NEW DELHI (INDIA):Among the many dynamic national pavilions at the Smart Cities Expo which will be held from 10 to 12 May, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, TAITRA, is organizing Taiwan Pavilion as one of the largest on the show floor and promises to be a popular destination for the show’s visitors.
It’s larger than last year, with a total of 20 exhibitors using 405 square meters in Hall 11.
India’s Smart Cities Mission was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015. It is an ambitious multiyear effort to boost economic development, technological innovation and sustainable growth across 109 Indian cities. Following the Prime Minister’s Smart Cities Mission, the associated Smart Cities Expo will gather global IT companies to participate.
This event will be an ideal platform for Taiwanese companies to display their latest Iot Solutions in many fields. Exhibitors include Moxa Co. (industrial IoT), EMS Co. (water management systems), AmRoad (smart home), Dan-Chief Technology (structure cabling solutions), EliteStar (LED lighting), EDIMAX (the Airbox, smart location tracking systems), and CTCI Advanced System. These leaders in their respected areas provide planning, designing, integration, and engineering services for IT systems.
During the 3rd Smart Cities 2017 in India, Taiwan will deliver the message of its ability to provide intelligent smart city solutions. A seminar is planned on the second day of the exhibition to attract entities that award contracts. The seminar will be held on May 11th from 11:45 am to 13:15 pm in Room D at Pragati Maidan. Five sessions will be offered during the event, covering Billion Electric’s MW Solar Farm PV-String Monitoring & Lighting Control CCMS Solutions; Advantech’s Transforming Renewable Energy Operations with IoT; Fuho Technology’s Smart Public Transportation Systems; CTCI Group’s Smart Tracking System, and Wintech Electric’s Partial-Discharge Smart Monitoring Detection System for high-voltage equipment.
Taiwan has many high-quality engineers and comprehensive supply chains. With these advantages, Taiwanese companies have a strong foundation in producing sensors for IoT and internet technologies. Development of IoT technology is greatly supported by the Taiwanese government and is widely used is many fields in Taiwan. One successful project is the conversion of Taiwan’s freeways to an electronic toll collection system.
This system includes a windshield transceiver (known as an eTag) that receives data from and transmits data to toll collecting sensors. The system records the date and time a vehicle passes a sensor, and automatically deducts the fees from a designated account. People can use smartphones to look up real-time information on city buses, freeways, and ETC accounts. Another scenario is a water surveillance initiative that provides alerts to citizens in the event of natural a disaster through instant messaging services.
