NEW DELHI (INDIA): The African continent gained traction the previous year, notably in the Hotel, Retail and Residential sectors. Africa’s rapidly growing property markets are attracting increased interest from international investors, developers and occupiers.
The key to accelerating the hospitality industry in Africa lies in ensuring that planned projects are completed within reasonable timeframes. This will ensure that projects can promptly deliver returns to their investors, which will ultimately lead to further investment in the future.
To address this urgent need, IDE is hosting the 10th Edition Hotelier Summit in Johannesburg on April 20th and 21st, 2017. The summit has quickly become Africa’s premier deal-flow platform as investors, property owners, developers and other stakeholders of the real estate landscape to gather under one roof to discuss the project feasibilities, from concept completion.
“An area that we see continually strapped to the back-bench is the financial planning, project execution and more importantly the implementation of sustainable measures. We seek to radically change this through engaging in actionable conversations with people who walk the talk. Our vision is ambitious, which is nothing less than to develop the Sub Saharan Africa in such a manner that every African has access to affordable housing and Africa is looked up to as the most progressive regions of growth in the global real estate map.” Said Ravi Kumar Chandran, Director of IDE
“The first phase towards this goal is realized in the form of the 10th Edition Hotelier Summit –Africa in Johannesburg, which will assemble the industry members of Sub Saharan Africa, followed by reaching out to the North African members through the 13th Edition Hotelier Summit-Africa in Casablanca, Morocco and finally gather the affiliates across the continent at the IDE Expo Africa in November to indulge in conversations of essence to achieving the greater goal.” Added Ravi Kumar
Some of the project owners and key projects that would be represented at the 10th Edition Hotelier Summit Africa in Johannesburg are:
1 Lee Karuri – Chairman, Resorts & Cities and Developers of Longonot Gate & Makuyu Ridge
2 Sijibomi Ogundele – CEO, Sujimoto Construction
3 Dirk Ten Brink – COO, Master Assets Investments
4 Alexis Janoray – Vice President Development – Sub-Saharan Africa – Accor Hotels
5 Craig Erasmus – Design & Technical Director – Accor Hotels
6 Rajiv Maharaj – Regional Procurement Director Africa & Indian Ocean – Hilton Worldwide
7 Juliet Njogu – Managing Director – Alba Hotels
8 Zara Chatur – Director, Chatur Group of Companies
On the other end of the table, top global suppliers will showcase their latest offerings for the Hotelier Summit. For instance, Samsung Electronics will showcase their digital signage products and solutions, and Hansgrohe will showcase their high quality bath and sanitary ware. Both Samsung and Hansgrohe will also deliver a special on-stage presentation all the attending delegates.
“When buyers and sellers typically participate in an exhibition or expo, all we see is an exchange of numerous business cards and collection of brochures with no real follow-up. The Hotelier Summit Africa is designed to change this trend by enabling the attendees to build targeted connections. We will also feature a stellar line-up of speakers, who will have an opportunity to discuss key trends and industry-relevant topics.” Concluded Ravi Kumar
The 10th Edition Hotelier Summit Africa has all the ingredients to be a game changer in the African real estate sector.
