SHIMLA (INDIA): All pending cases of allotment of land to people from the weaker sections of the society for construction of houses would be disposed within three months, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said today.
Intervening in reply to a question in the state Assembly, he said the Deputy Commissioners would be directed to dispose the pending cases.
Replying to the main question, Revenue minister Kaul Singh Thakur said there were about 4,000 applications for allotment of land and three Biswas (135 sq yards) land in rural areas and two Biswas (90 sq yards) in urban areas was being allotted to eligible landless persons for construction of house.
He said during past four years 191 persons have been allotted land which included 95 Scheduled Caste members, 33 OBC and five Scheduled Tribes members and 58 from general category.
Replying to a supplementary of Kuldeep Kumar (Congress), Thakur said so far land has been allotted in three districts only and in other districts the Deputy Commissioners did not evinced much interest.
He said no survey had been conducted to ascertain the number of eligible landless persons can apply to the Deputy Commissioner for allotment of land.
Social Justice and Empowerment minister Dhani Ram Shandil informed Ram Kumar (Congress) that a sum of Rs 7-lakh was being provided for construction of Anganwadi buildings and the cost is shared in the ratio of 90:10 between the centre and the state governments.
Revenue minister Thakur informed the House in reply to question of Ravinder Singh Ravi (BJP) that the present government had opened 15 Sub-divisions, 31 Tehsils and 31 Sub-Tehsils during the past four years in repose to the demand of the people under “Prashashan Janta ke dwar”(administration at the door of the citizen).
Thakur told Rikhi Ram Kaundal (BJP) that the matter regarding hike in honorarium of Lambardars was under consideration of the government and a committee had been set up to give its recommendations in the issue.
He said that earlier, the Lambardars were being given 20 per cent of land revenue as honorarium which was increased to 50 per cent and in 2012 it was fixed at Rs 2000 per month.
