SHIMLA (INDIA): The Reserve Bank (RBI: is looking for new premises for its office and residential complex near the famous Ridge on Mall Road here.
Currently, the central bank functions from SDA Complex Basement-1, Kasumpti, in Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.
The RBI has invited fresh Expression of Interest (EOI) for acquiring land/premises, with or without constructed structure of up to 3,000 square metre built-up area and minimum land area of approximately 3,500 sqm for plot/s, for its proposed office building and residential complexes, respectively.
The central bank may consider one or more property for its use at different locations.
“The property/ies should be located in Shimla within an approximate radius of 5 km from ‘Ridge’ on Mall Road, Shimla/ State Government Secretariat, Chotta Shimla with adequate road access,” the EOI specifies.
The RBI further said preference will be given to the property offered by state-owned banks, Public Sector Undertakings or government departments.
Inviting the bids till March 14, the central bank said offers from brokers will not be entertained and no brokerage will be paid.
The central bank is headquartered in Mumbai and has four zonal offices in Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, in addition to 19 regional offices.
Regional offices are located in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram.
It has sub-offices in Agartala, Dehradun, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Srinagar, Aizawal and Imphal, among others.
