NEW DELHI (INDIA): JK Lakshmi Cement reported a net profit of Rs 7.6 crore for the quarter ended December.
The firm had posted a net loss of Rs 0.57 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a BSE filing.
Total income from operations rose to Rs 750.92 crore in the October-December quarter this fiscal from Rs 728.29 crore during the same quarter in 2015-16.
JK Lakshmi Cement said, “Despite dent in demand due to demonetisation, company grew its production and sales largely on account of stabilisation of Drug plant this year”.
“The company is enhancing its Drug capacity from 1.8 million tons to 2.7 million tons which is likely to completed by March. The company’s project in its subsidiary company UCWL is near completion and likely to be operational by March. With these company’s total capacity including UCWL will stand increased to 12.5 million tonnes by the end of this fiscal year,” JK Lakshmi said in a release.
