GREATER NOIDA (INDIA): Two building construction companies were fined Rs 5 lakh each for flouting National Green Tribunal guidelines by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).
“The two companies were fined Rs 5 lakh each. Besides, several concrete cement mixing plants were closed today,” a GNIDA official said.
As per NGT guidelines the builders had to put green tarpaulin all around the site and sprinkle water so that dust particles do not contaminate the air, the official said.
“But at the both sites dust was polluting the air as they had not covered the building material and sand,” he said.
Two traders were fined Rs 5000 each for storing building material along the road near their shops.
